Our Story
From a single LAN room to Sydney's loudest arena
HyperBonusEmpire started as a 12-seat LAN room above a Crown Street cafe. Today we run a 600m² flagship venue in Surry Hills built for casual players, content creators and competitive teams alike.
- 2016
The first 12 seats
We opened a tiny LAN room with second-hand rigs and a shared fridge. Friday five-a-side CS nights sold out within a week.
- 2019
Moved to Reservoir Street
We took over the old print warehouse at 35 Reservoir Street and fitted 40 custom battlestations plus a soundproofed streaming booth.
- 2021
Launched the HyperBonus club
Our points-per-minute rewards program went live, letting members trade play time for gear, snacks and tournament entries.
- 2024
Added the VR arena
A 60m² free-roam VR space and a six-screen console lounge opened, making us the largest dedicated gaming venue in inner Sydney.

Walk-ins are welcome whenever stations are free, but weekends and tournament nights fill fast. We recommend booking a battlestation or VR session online or by phone, especially for groups of four or more.
You earn one point for every minute of play, with double points during off-peak hours. Points can be redeemed for gear, snacks, tournament entries and free play time. Membership is free and tracked to your phone number at the front desk.
Players under 15 are welcome until 7pm with a guardian present. After 7pm the floor is 15+, and our late Friday and Saturday sessions until 2am are strictly 18+ with valid ID.
Absolutely. We offer coached scrim blocks, main-stage hire for community tournaments, and full-floor private bookings. Email us with your dates and headcount and we'll put together a quote within one business day.
Every station includes a mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse and headset, all sanitised between sessions. You're also welcome to plug in your own peripherals — each rig has front-facing USB and a 3.5mm jack.
